Advanced Formulation: Epoxy-Based Structural Adhesives (Part 1)

Register for this Epoxy-Based Structural Adhesives course and gain vital hands-on knowledge to achieve your performance targets faster.

After sharing expert view on the choice of raw materials, the training will then focus on the combination of ingredients to effectively meet real targets.

PART 1: March 24, 2010    ♦   PART 2: April 7, 2010

5 reasons to attend this online course:
Reason 1 Meet your everyday challenges faster by wisely selecting candidates among similar raw materials

Reason 2 Reduce development time of new epoxy-based formulations by starting with appropriate system (resins, curative, hardener, stoichiometry...)

Reason 3 Improve your ability to fine-tune formulations by learning about successful alterations – case studies drawn from John's own experience

Reason 4 Find creative solutions with your epoxy-based structural adhesive for higher corrosion inhibiting, durability, thermal oxidative resistance...

Reason 5 Accelerate your own projects by getting feedbacks backed up by John Bishopp's 40 years experience in formulation

! WARNING !

This advanced formulation course on epoxy-based structural adhesives is in 2 parts:
      PART 1: 24 March, 2010
      PART 2: 7 April, 2010

Please remember to tick both sessions when registering to benefit from 25% off Part 2.

COURSE TYPE: Advanced Formulation
Ideally suited for
  • Formulating chemists who want to improve their formulating knowledge & skills
  • Development Team Leaders with an interest to get expert insight into formulating methodologies
  • Research chemists who could gain a better understanding of novel chemistries which are required by the formulators

  • Prerequisite: Attendees should have a good understanding of the chemistry of epoxy resin adhesives and of the methodologies behind their assessment [mechanical and physico-chemical testing].

WHAT YOU WILL TAKE AWAY FROM THIS COURSE:
Becoming a good formulator takes time and experience; This course aims to help you gain knowledge from a formulator with a long and proven track record. Learn from case studies, experience and best practices from someone who has been there before and faced the same issues that you're facing now.

You will learn about epoxy behavior vs. other structural adhesives and discover what can be altered in your formulation to advance beyond common properties and into competition for more established adhesives for a given performance.

Our speaker John Bishopp has a profound knowledge of the science of adhesion and a long – nearly forty years – track record in the development of structural adhesives: as an individual bench chemist and then as the leader of Hexcel Composites’ worldwide Adhesive R & D Group.

Early Registrants: Submit your specific needs when registering and let John Bishopp help you find appropriate solutions.

    Senior Scientist from Whitford Ltd:
"I found John's reasons for selecting and not selecting different raw materials with example products in the market rather useful. Especially by associating what properties could be gained from using the raw material as well as covering any problems present that may be associated with it."

    Research Chemist from Gentex Corporation:
"Very good information through case studies"

R&D Manager from Quantum Leap Packaging:
"It is very good to hear from a lecturer with extensive real-world experience rather than (or in addition to) just academic knowledge. The specific examples, anecdotes, and advice regarding specific materials is invaluable."
