How Adhesives Can Improve Future Generations Via Life-Cycle Considerations Today

- Sep 1, 2010

This article looks at the role adhesives play in the environmental disposal and / or reuse of materials at the end of a product’s life. When considering this perspective, it becomes apparent that, with the correct initiatives, adhesives may be contributing more to environmental well-being than they detract. Many industries have integrated into their development processes important deliberations regarding the environmental impact of their products. Some of these considerations are made necessary by governmental regulations; others are the result of a deep respect for the environment, and yet others are possibly made because "greening" has become a popular term that resonates with consumers. However, most environmentalists agree that even this is not enough to preserve the well-being of future generations, and questions remain with regard to the next steps to be taken.
