SMP based elastic adhesives & sealants have good application properties. Even at low temperatures the products can be easily extruded and tooled.
Other products normally exhibit decrease in gunability at lower temperatures (<10°C). This is mainly due to the interaction of polyurethane polymers by hydrogen bonding becoming so strong at lower temperature, that the viscosity at a shear rate equalling the speed of gunning operations. This tendency can also be generalised to some extent to any polymer linked with urethane linkages.
